Apostilles, provincial records and Turkish legal needs
For divorce, identify the province, court, judgment and proof that the divorce is final. A divorce judgment and a certificate used to prove status may not contain the same information. The Turkish route depends on whether you need civil registration, recognition or enforcement of an obligation.
Prepare the Turkish part of the matter
For an inheritance, identify the deceased’s nationality, the province involved in any estate process and the Turkish assets. A Canadian probate or administration document does not automatically transfer a Turkish apartment or release every bank account. Connect the family records and distinguish estate administration from the separate Turkish asset procedure.
A practical plan from where you live
Canada spans several time zones. Choose your actual city or time zone when requesting a consultation and give a preferred local time. For a power of attorney, check wording and form before notarisation. Authentication is not a cure for missing authority, and a scan may not replace the original required in Turkey.
What to include in your first enquiry
State your country of residence, the legal issue in Turkey and any known deadline. If there is a judgment, identify the issuing authority and whether it is final. If property or an estate is involved, give only a general description at this stage. Do not send identity numbers, banking credentials or sensitive allegations in the public form. Formal documents are reviewed through an agreed channel after scope and authority are clarified.
